Ellen Nichols

Ooh La La Jewels Du Jour is proud to announce Ellen Nichols as the second Ooh La La Legacy Lady for the 2017 season. Nichols is the founder of New Horizons of Southwest Florida and Super Kids Club. Seeing the problems in the migrant neighborhoods and recognizing the tremendous need to help the children from non-English speaking homes with their school work, Nichols and her family decided to find a place to provide free after school tutoring. In January 2003, the family opened the first Super Kids Club in Rosemary Park in Bonita Springs. Ellen continues that work to this day

Jo Ann Ward

Ooh La La Jewels Du Jour is proud to announce Jo Ann Ward as the first Ooh La La Legacy Lady for the season. Jo Ann Ward is the first vice-president of the Latchkey League Board of Directors. She helps raise funds for the under-served latchkey children of Collier County and is leaving a lasting legacy with her charitable work.

Mimi Scofield

Scofield is Vice Chairman of Drug Free Collier and has been the Chair of the organization’s Annual Community Awareness Luncheon since 2012. Scofield is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and has been a Naples resident since 1992. She is a retired nurse and spent more than 30 years in healthcare marketing and administration with organizations across the country. She has given much of her time and talent to protecting area youth from substance abuse by supporting local prevention initiatives designed to educate and empower young people with the tools they need to make good choices. “I believe that serving a cause greater than our own is everyone’s responsibility,” says Scofield. “I’m passionate about leaving our community a better place for our children to grow and flourish.

Debi Lux

Ooh La La Jewels Du Jour is proud to announce Dr. Debi Lux as the fourth Ooh La La Legacy Lady for the 2017 season. Lux is the co-founder of Collier County Honor Flight and owns Brace 4 Beauty dental practice. Dr. Debi Lux is involved in the community and has been on the board of many local organizations and non-profits. Her passion lies with serving local American veterans and with this passion she co-founded Collier Honor Flight with her husband Sean Lux. Collier County Honor Flight’s mission is to transport local Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

Penny Rambacher

Ooh La La Jewels Du Jour is proud to announce Penny Rambacher as the fifth Ooh La La Legacy Lady for the 2017 season. Rambacher, a registered dietician, is the founder of Miracles in Action, a local non-profit that provides an income stream to Guatemalan women by selling their beaded jewelry, keycharms, and textiles. All handmade in indigenous Mayan communities, the sale of these handicrafts provides the artisan an opportunity to earn an income from their home while taking care of their children. Miracles in Action has also raised enough money through donations to coordinate the construction of 54 rural schools, 24 village water systems, 20 vocational workshops, more than 2800 safe fuel efficient stoves, and over 2200 water purification filters in Guatemala. In her former career as a flight attendant with American Airlines, Penny had the opportunity to travel around the world for work, for pleasure, and to make a difference in the lives of the poor.

Stephanie Spell

Ooh La La Jewels Du Jour is proud to announce Chief Stephanie Spell as the sixth Ooh La La Legacy Lady for the 2017 season. Chief Spell has been with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for 30 years. Spell, a Naples resident since 1977 she is originally from New York and Rhode Island. She has a bachelor’s degree in public safety administration and also received her master’s degree in administration from Barry University. As a member of Sheriff Rambosk’s executive command staff, Spell provides leadership for several law enforcement bureaus, including Public Information, Media Relations, Crime Prevention, Crime Analysis, Victim Advocate, and Senior Services to name a few. Currently she is working on growing community engagement and partnerships between local law enforcement professionals and the community.
